The House of the Moon
♏🌔 Scorpio Moon’s Memories When we are glowing in our space, each of us carrying sunlight. When we are fiercely loyal, loving, and care with our whole selves Moon-hearted. This is the photo that lives in my heart’s imaginarium, captured from a video Chanda sent during one of his travels. I called it "The House of the Moon." When I first saw the frame, I confided to him, “Each glowing window is a room where the Moon tells her stories - one for each of us”. The jasmine scent and night sounds remain stitched into that photo, no matter how many times I look at it. The fact that my best friend carries the name Chanda - Moon - is no coincidence. Nor is the fact that his preferred color is the blue of the sky.
We first crossed paths many years ago because of a photo he took - not of the moon, but of an elephant. We became friends instantly. He’s probably the most polite, funny, witty, and empathetic person I’ve ever met. We can talk about anything: Shakespeare, marketing trends, poetry, music, recipes, history - we shift from topic to topic in seconds. I love his charisma, his big heart, and that grounded presence you can feel even if a whole month passes without a message between us. He’s the kind of friend who sends handwritten letters. Chanda never asks what you need - he just knows. When something good or heavy is happening in my life, he always senses it. He also constantly teases Uno. Last time we spoke, I was spiraling through one of my paradoxical complaint situations, and in a second, my friend made me laugh. Out of nowhere, Chanda said:“And all these years, I thought Uno is the cat!” He’s off social media now, always studying, always learning. Exams, diplomas, new languages - his mind is a marvelous thing in motion. He doesn’t care much for astrology, but he’s always the first to ask how my star passion is evolving. And when I can’t make sense of something in Sanskrit- or any topic at all he’s the first person I ask. His favorite quote this month (he too walks each day with a quote in his pocket) surprised me: "Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together."- Woodrow Wilson. And the last line from our recent conversation - one that made me laugh: “I just said I’m unpredictable sometimes.”- on his enduring “friendship” with Oscar Wilde, who keeps showing up in our meetings.
My own paraphrased quote from Shakespeare, the one that always makes him smile: “You are an alchemist - make Moon from that.” / "You are an alchemist, make gold from that.”
